The Honda Endurance Racing team has arrived at the penultimate round of the FIM Endurance World Championship in Germany for the 8 Hours of Oschersleben, this weekend (7-9 June).

Honda’s endurance specialists Sébastien Gimbert, Gregory LeBlanc and Erwan Nigon are currently sitting third overall in the championship standings and with two podium finishes aboard the CBR1000RR Fireblade SP2, with a third place at the Bol d’Or and a second place at Le Mans, the crew and riders are looking towards the top step.

At 3.66km long, the track presents fairly flat contours that create smooth and fast racing, which suits the CBR. The team has a proven track record at the German-circuit, where in 2014 they won the race, scoring their maiden EWC win.

The 8 Hours of Oschersleben will begin at 13.00 CEST on Saturday 9 June. For more information and updates on the team throughout the race follow @HondaRacingCBR.

I am happy going into this round; Oschersleben is somewhere I really enjoy. Last year was not the result we like, but this year I feel good and the CBR feels good. The team has done a lot of work and we look to continue in the positive way and to find ourselves on the podium again.

Obviously we want to be on the podium again, but we know the other teams are very fast. The team is working well together and I am excited to be getting back on the Fireblade again. We want as many points as possible so we are all ready to go and work towards the good result. For me, I want to be back on the podium and, of course, working for the win. We have finished third and second this year so I want that win now!

Even though we had good race in Slovakia, I was still a little sad not to finish on the podium. The Honda CBR is very strong, the team work hard and Sébastien and Greg are very good riders; so we have everything we need for the good result. I am looking forward to getting back on the bike and going racing again.

It was a bit of a mixed result last time out in Slovakia, which was a little disappointing after being on the podium in the previous races. Although you can’t be too disappointed with fourth place! Oschersleben is a circuit that suits our bike and our riders are looking forward to getting back out racing. The team have been working hard to put us in the best possible position ahead of qualifying this week and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do and hopefully be back on that podium.
